BigOmics Analytics
BigOmics Analytics, a biodata analytics startup based in Ticino, was founded in 2018 by Ivo Kwee and Murodzhon Akhmedov as a spin-off company of both IOR - Institute of Oncology Research and IRB - Institute for Research in Biomedicine (both IOR and IRB are affiliated to USI). In 2019, it launched its first product named “Omics Playground”, an easy-to-use and interactive platform to visualize and understand omics data (information generated by studies in genomics, proteomics, etc.). In 2021, BigOmics raised a total of 2.7M CHF of investment and gained its first enterprise clients. Current team support over 1500 scientists worldwide in the life science industry and academic labs providing tools to fast-track their discovery process by easily analyzing data from their experiments.
