To help current students and recent graduates navigate the world of work, several USI Alumni shared their career paths and career story. Here the story of Ramune Tincani, Sr. Talent Acquisition Specialist at Impact Brands. USI Degree: Master in Digital Fashion Communication, 2021.

How did you start your career?

My career started while still studying at USI, I was already working in an international company as IT Sourcer/Recruiter, thus after obtaining my degree, I decided to look for new opportunities and extend my knowledge.

Why did you choose a career at Impact Brands?

As mentioned previously, by looking for a new opportunities I have noticed a remote job. I already had a couple of years of experience in HR field, particularly talent acquisition. By having my first interview at IMPACT BRANDS, I understood that it is the right place to deepen my knowledge and be responsible for full-cycle recruitment process. Moreover, important to mention, the micro climate presented during the interviews was great and by having a remote job was a huge benefit, which can lead to a better work and life balance.

What is your current role/duties?

In a year I was promoted to Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist position. I am closely working with Senior Talent Acquisition Manager to understand our company´s needs, priorities, and talent requirements in order to bring the top-performing talent to each role. Working together on recruitment strategy, including creating job descriptions and recruiting plans. Moreover, interacting with potential candidates and building excellent candidate experience during the interviews. Furthermore, preparing job offers, onboarding new employees and necessary contracts.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career at Impact Brands?

I think the most important to be authentic, show initiative, not be afraid to take ownership, and embrace mistakes, because it´s all part of the journey.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

I really appreciate group projects, I think it is highly important in order to prepare us for a future work environment, where ability to collaborate and find a compromise with different people matters a lot. Also, having international professors and experiencing their different perspectives teaches you to learn the material in a different way. However, the biggest thanks goes to Prof. Lorenzo Cantoni and Dr. Nadzeya Kalbaska, they were the core of the program, both in professional aspects and in general spirit.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

I do appreciate that it was divided in 3 big parts: digital, fashion and communication. I believe it gave a broader knowledge and better understanding of each field that we could apply to our career path as future employees or entrepreneurs.

What is your advice to USI students entering the job market?

All to the future candidates, my advice - don't be afraid to show initiative, show your interest, follow the latest trends in the field you like, and invest your time in self-improvement, because small details do matter.
