Film screening "Baghdad in my shadow"

The screening open to the public of the film Baghdad in my Shadow (2019) by the Swiss-Iraqi director Samir will be held on Tuesday, 20 August at 4 pm at Cinema Iride in the context of the MEM Summer Summit 2019, during the review Le vie dei Pardi. The director will be in house and will give a brief introduction to his work.

- Plot: the runaway wife Amal, the writer Taufiq and the homosexual IT specialist Muhanad meet at Café Abu Nawas, a popular get-together for Iraqi artists and exiles in London. Stirred up by a Salafist preacher, Taufiq's nephew attacks his uncle and his friends, turning everyone's lives upside down.
