Graduation ceremony for 22 communication professionals
Institutional Communication Service
10 November 2012
Twenty-two communications professionals received their diplomas on Saturday, November 10, graduating from the Executive Master of Science in Communications Management within the Faculty of Communication Sciences at USI Università della Svizzera italiana. The diplomas were awarded by the president of USI, Professor Piero Martinoli and the EMScom Academic Director, Professor Francesco Lurati.
A global leader in this field, the USI Executive Master of Science in Communications Management (EMScom) prepares professionals to develop new perspectives in the management of stakeholder relationships, reputation management, and corporate identity at a strategic level; and beyond that, to contribute to their organizations’ corporate strategy. An essential part of the degree is the real-life consulting projects for companies or institutions at the end of their studies. This year the beneficiaries were: Bonnier, Roche, Swisscom, UPM. The team receiving the highest grade is awarded with the Burson-Marsteller Award for academic excellence.
Gabi Badertscher, Practice Leader Public Affairs and Member of the Executive Board of Burson-MarstellerSwitzerland,presented the award, endowed with 10’000 Swiss Francs, to the members of the “Bonnier” consulting project. The task was to raise Bonnier’s attractiveness as an employer for digital talents in the Swedish market. The complexity of the company made this project particularly challenging. Bodil Ericsson Torp(Sweden), Donatus Grütter (Switzerland), Mary Mwendwa (Kenya), Sascha Weisshaupt (Switzerland) and Lukas Widmer (Switzerland) delivered a work that was clearly outstanding: a systematic collection of data inside and outside of the company has allowed the team to develop a sound strategy, bridging branding with storytelling. The findings were presented in a thorough manner and were clearly supported by the data collected. They nicely nourished a wide and creative platform of tactics, which were presented to the client in a detailed, compelling, and actionable manner.
The SPRI Award for the best grade average encompassing the entire program was granted to Lukas Widmer (Halter Unternehmungen) by Francesco Lurati.
