The Swiss Goncourt Prize has been awarded to French writer Neige Sinno for her novel 'Triste Tigre', published by P.O.L. Three USI students, accompanied by Regina Bollhalder, lecturer at USI, were also on the national jury.

The winner, already awarded the Prix Femina, was announced Tuesday evening at the French Residence in Berne in the presence of Ambassador Marion Paradas and Didier Decoin, President of the Académie Goncourt.

For her third novel, the author from the Hautes-Alpes region courageously recalls the rape she suffered as a child at the hands of her stepfather. "It is a powerful choice that resonates with the current concerns of young people, a choice for our time, committed and engaging, and of course very literary," said French Ambassador Marion Paradas, quoted in the embassy's press release.

Sponsored by the Académie Goncourt, the Choix Goncourt de la Suisse is a project coordinated by the Embassy of France in Switzerland and supported by the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie - Western Europe, Payot Librairie, AMOPA - Suisse and the Fondation Catherine Gide.
