The ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship program 2025 is funded by the State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI) and is supported by Swissnex and Swiss embassies in various Asia-Pacific countries. It aims to foster research collaborations between Swiss and Asia-Pacific universities, offering research opportunities for Indian, Australian, Singaporean, and Bruneian students in Switzerland.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited university in India, Australia, Singapore, or Brunei and be either Master’s degree students or Bachelor’s students who have completed their 2nd year by the time the research stay in Switzerland begins. Doctoral and postdoctoral candidates are not eligible, and specific areas of research are encouraged for Indian applicants.
Funding and duration
The research stay must last between 2 to 3 months, with funding provided at 60 CHF/day, up to a maximum of 5,400 CHF. This amount covers only part of the living expenses, and students are responsible for additional funding if needed.
Timeline of the call
- 31 January 2025 – Submission of applications deadline
- 28 February 2025 – Notification to awardees
- 15 March 2025 – Deadline for awardees to accept the scholarship
- 1 April 2025 to 31 December 2025 – Research stay period
- 1 November 2025 – Latest possible start date for the research stay
