Facoltà di scienze biomediche: definito il Comitato costituente e prolungato il mandato di Piero Martinoli

Il Consiglio dell’USI, nel corso della sua seduta ordinaria dello scorso venerdì 5 dicembre, ha  definito il Comitato costituente dell’Istituto di medicina umana della Facoltà di scienze biomediche. Il Comitato sarà costituito da 5-7 membri e sarà composto da professori universitari di medicina provenienti dalle università partner del progetto (Basilea, Zurigo e Politecnico federale di Zurigo), dall’Accademia svizzera delle scienze mediche (ASSM) e dall’Ente ospedaliero cantonale (EOC). Il Consiglio ha inoltre nominato all’unanimità il Prof. Dr. Med. Mario Bianchetti quale rappresentante dell’USI nel Comitato costituente, che potrà anche avvalersi di un gruppo esecutivo locale.

Data la rilevanza del progetto il Consiglio dell’USI ha infine chiesto a Piero Martinolidi prolungare la sua presidenza fino alla conclusione dell’anno accademico 2015-16. Il prof. Martinoli ha accettato. Oltre a condurre a termine i lavori previsti dalla pianificazione 2012-2016 per le attuali Facoltà, l’obiettivo è quello di portare a compimento la realizzazione del Master in medicina nell’ambito della nuova Facoltà di scienze biomediche, istituita – lo ricordiamo – con decreto del Gran Consiglio il 24 novembre 2014.

ENGLISH VERSION

During its ordinary session (on Friday, December 5th) the University Council has set the basis for the future Constituent Committee of the Institute of Human Medicine within the new Faculty of Biomedical Sciences. The Committee (5-7 members) will consist of university professors of medicine from the partner institutes of the project (universities of Basel, Zurich, and the ETH Zurich), from the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS), and from the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC). The University Council has appointed unanimously Prof. Dr. Med. Mario Bianchetti as representative of USI within the Constituent Committee.

Considered the importance of the project, the University Council has asked Piero Martinoli to extend his mandate as President of USI. The proposal was accepted; therefore, Piero Martinoli will remain at his current post until the end of the academic year 2015-16. In addition to achieving the objectives for the current 2012-2016 Faculty planning, the decision of the University Council will enable President Martinoli to complete the implementation of the Master in Human Medicine within the newly founded Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, as per governmental decree on November 24th, 2014.
