How did you start your career?

My graduate degree as a lawyer, and the USI Master in Corporate Communications, allowed me to create a dynamic and multifaceted career path, combining my legal expertise with the ability to effectively manage stakeholder relationships.

Why did you choose a career at Guzmán Ariza?

As a Director of Communications in an internationally recognized law firm, my role reflects the increasing intersection between law and communications, demonstrating the value of professionals who can navigate both disciplines. Developing strategies that ensure internal and external messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with the firm’s objectives contribute to the success and reputation of the firm.

What is your current role/duties?

As the first point of contact for clients, communications are intended to understand their specific circumstances and immigration goals. My department handles investment-related applications from a wide variety of nationalities and backgrounds, both as individuals and as representatives of international businesses. I specialize in immigration law, helping clients navigate the complex legal processes associated with immigration, visas, residency, and citizenship.

In your opinion, what are the qualities necessary for a successful career at Guzmán Ariza?

Problem-solving skills, which are essential in addressing complex cases for which we want to achieve successful outcomes. Continuous learning, being proactive and adapting to the ever-evolving legal landscape. Collaboration on legal strategies; teamwork is fundamental because it contributes to every case’s strategy, and to the overall improvement of the firm.

What positive aspects and qualities meant most to you during the study programme you attended?

Effectively communicating the company's values, mission, and achievements helps build a strong and favorable reputation with our stakeholders. Strategic communications help companies discover new ideas and think outside the box.

What competences and/or skills acquired in your USI Study Program have been useful/are useful to your professional career?

One of the main competences I acquired during my study program was stakeholder engagement. In my current role, this has allowed me to properly foster trust and loyalty with our clients through open and transparent communication. Implementing innovative corporate strategies has also played a key component in differentiating ourselves from traditional law firms.
