Date: 22 October 2022 / 09:30 - 12:30

Goal No. 1 of the United Nations 2030 Agenda seeks to eliminate extreme poverty by the end of the decade. Weighing on this ambitious goal today are three factors shaking global balances and challenging the resilience of the most fragile countries, causing new humanitarian crises: Covid-19, the war in Ukraine and climate change. In this context, where do governments stand in the fight against extreme poverty, and what are the role and the limits of international cooperation and NGOs?

These issues will be addressed on Saturday, 22 October 2022, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at the USI Auditorium in Lugano, at a conference organised by FOSIT and endorsed by the City of Lugano and AIL SA under the patronage of the State Council of the Republic and Canton of Ticino. Moderating the day will be Verena Szabo, RSI journalist. Four keynote speeches, panel discussions and debates with the audience are scheduled. A standing networking lunch will be offered.

Attached you can find the detailed program.

For organisational reasons, registration is mandatory by 17 October at www.fosit.ch
