Science and You(th) will be held on Tuesday, 14 February 2023, from 10 am at the Aula Magna of Università della Svizzera italiana. The project is part of Science et Cité funded by the MINT programme and is aimed at junior high students in Ticino. The goal is to give young people the opportunity to develop a critical look at scientific and technological development and to enter into dialogue with the world of science.
Sixty students from schools in Giornico and Castione will be attending. During the day, there will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect on the theme of diversity and disability, asking whether or not it is right to prevent impaired people from being born. A theme that the students have chosen themselves and are also pursuing with classroom discussions.
In Ticino, the project is organised by L'ideatorio of USI, but it is also taking place in parallel in the canton of Bern and French-speaking Switzerland.
